TEHRAN, June 26 (KUNA) -- Iran's Ministry of Transport reopened the airspace over the eastern half of the country to domestic and international flights as well as transit flights.
The airspace has been reopened to international overflights as well as domestic and international flights to and from airports located in eastern Iran, spokesman of the Ministry Majid Akhavan said in a press release on Thursday.
The move falls in the framework of gradual resumption of flights and normalization of the aviation for the safety of passengers, he explained.
The airports reopening include Mashhad airport - which has recently been struck by an Israel occupation air raid, and Chabahar, Zahedan and Jask. On June 13, the Israeli occupation entity launched an air campaign against Iran, which prompted the latter to hit back with waves of missile and drone strikes.
Both sides were locked in deadly crossfire for 12 days until US President Donald J. Trump declared an agreement on ceasefire on Monday, June 23 that took effect on the following day. (end) mw.mmj.gb
