ABU DHABI, June 24 (KUNA) -- UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Tuesday welcomed an announced ceasefire agreement between Iran and the Israeli occupation, which came into effect earlier in the day.
This came in a phone call Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed received from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, reported the Emirate News Agency (WAM).
The UAE president expressed his hope that the agreement would serve as a foundation for enhancing stability, security and peace across the Middle East.
He underlined the significance of ensuring the success of the agreement in a way that benefits all the region's countries and peoples, restating the UAE's relentless stance in favor of initiatives that advance regional peace and security.
For his part, the Iranian President appreciated the UAE's position and solidarity with his country following the Israeli occupation military's attack on Iran. (end) skm.mt
