CAIRO , June 24 (KUNA) -- Egypt welcomed on Tuesday President Trump's announcement of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, calling it a vital step toward containing recent escalation and restoring calm.
The Foreign Ministry stressed this could mark a turning point for ending the conflict and creating a climate for diplomatic solutions.
Egypt urged both sides to fully respect the ceasefire and show restraint, while praising the move as an opportunity to halt reciprocal attacks and reduce tensions.
Egypt also reaffirmed its commitment to working with regional and international partners to support the ceasefire and advance a lasting settlement.
