AMMAN, June 24 (KUNA) -- Jordan welcomed on Tuesday the announcement by US President Donald Trump of reaching a ceasefire agreement between Iran and the Israeli occupation, stressing the importance of this agreement in reducing the serious escalation in the region.
Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Sufyan Al-Qudah stated that Jordan stressed the need to uphold the agreement, prevent further regional deterioration, and resolve all crises through dialogue and diplomacy in line with international law and the UN Charter.
He also underlined that reaching a just solution to the Palestinian issue through the implementation of the two-state solution is the key to security, stability, and peace in the region.
He also stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to end the Israeli occupation's attack and the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing.
He called for launching a genuine political process to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. (end)
