KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (KUNA) -- The International Muslim Youth Summit (I-MYSK 2025) wrapped up Sunday in Malaysia with the launch of several initiatives to support the Palestinian cause.
The two-day event in the Malaysian state of Kelantan themed "Echoes of Palestine: A Voice for the Voiceless", the summit called for solidarity with Palestine.
In his opening speech, Kelantan Chief Minister Mohd Nassuruddin stressed that Palestine is not just a political issue but a humanitarian, media, and youth responsibility.
On his part, Vice President of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) in Kelantan, Mohammad Firdaus announced that the summit adopted five strategic initiatives to support Palestinians, foremost among them the formation of an international media coalition, volunteer corps, and an emergency media unit.
He said the initiatives aim to support the Palestinian people across media, education, and organizational domains.
Kelantan State Executive Council member Zamakhshari Mohammad described the summit as more than just an event but a platform that supports and stands by Palestinians, as it brought together around 30 youth activists from 20 countries, including Palestine, Turkiye, the UK, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, South Africa, India, Singapore, and Brunei.
The event also reaffirmed the Malaysian federal government's unwavering stance against the Israeli occupation and its long-standing political and humanitarian support for Palestine. (end) aab.sar
