CAIRO, June 19 (KUNA) -- Egypt, the United Kingdom and France have agreed, Thursday, to strengthen coordination and pursue diplomatic efforts to prevent regional tensions and further escalations.
Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during a phone call held by Egyptian Foreign Minister Bader Abdelatty with his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot and UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, the talks centered on the fast-moving developments unfolding across the region.
The statement also said that Abdelatty stressed the urgent need for a regional and international coordination to halt the escalation, warning that continued military tension could pose risks to the security and stability of the region.
He also cautioned against allowing the current military escalation to overshadow the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank, highlighting the importance to restore ceasefire, ease humanitarian suffering, and pave the way for a political resolution based on the two-state solution.
