ISLAMABAD, June 3 (KUNA) -- At least seven "terrorists belonging to Indian proxy" were killed in two separate operations in Pakistanآ’s southwestern Balochistan province, said the military on Tuesday.
According to a press release by Pakistan militaryآ’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in the general area Mach of Kachhi District in Balochistan province on reported presence of terrorists.
During the conduct of the operation, Pakistani troops effectively engaged the terroristsآ’ location, and after an intense exchange of fire, "five Indian sponsored terrorists" were killed. In another IBO conducted in the general area Margand of Kalat District in Balochistan, a terrorist hideout was busted, and two terrorists were successfully neutralized.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities. Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace "Indian sponsored terrorism" from the country, and reaffirm the nationآ’s unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of Indian sponsored terrorism and their facilitators to justice, the ISPR concluded.
President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have applauded security forces on successful operation against terrorists in Balochistan.
In a statement, the President said, "India is spreading terrorism in Pakistan through its proxies." He said our resolve to eliminate terrorist elements and defend the country will remain unwavering.
In his statement, the Prime Minister said we will continue the war against terrorism until this scourge is completely eradicated from the country.
Last week, at least four soldiers of the Pakistan army were martyred while 12 terrorists were killed in separate security operations in Pakistanآ’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Balochistan provinces. The operations come at a time when Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terror attacks especially in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. (end)
