KUWAIT, May 27 (KUNA) - The State of Kuwait strongly condemned and denounced the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by members of the Israeli occupation government and some extremists and settlers, in a flagrant violation of international law and a provocation of the feelings of Muslims.
In a statement Tuesday, Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned against the continuation of such escalatory practices, which constitute a violation of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem.
The Ministry affirmed Kuwait's categorical rejection of the occupation's attempts to impose a new fait accompli at Al-Aqsa Mosque, as this poses a threat to security and stability, fuels the cycle of violence in the occupied territories, and undermines prospects for peace.
It also reaffirmed Kuwait's call for the international community to shoulder its legal responsibilities in halting these violations, stressing its unwavering support for the brotherly Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
