CAIRO, May 22 (KUNA) -- An earthquake measuring 6.2 degrees on the Richter scale struck the northern governorate of Marsa Matrouh but luckily no one was hurt nor damage occured, the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) said Thursday.
It added in a statement people felt the tremor at 6:19 a.m., and the earthquake was registered at a depth of 68.91 kilometers.
Marsah Matrouh is 240 kilometers west of Alexandria, northern Egypt. (end)
