CAIRO, May 19 (KUNA) -- Assistant Undersecretary at Kuwait's Ministry of Information, Adel Al-Mashaan, emphasized the importance of boosting media cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt during his visit to Cairo.
Following a meeting with Engineer Khaled Abdulaziz, Chairman of Egypt's Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Al-Mashaan praised Egypt's long-standing media support for Arab and Kuwaiti causes. He noted that the meeting reflected a mutual commitment to deepen collaboration, under the directives of Kuwaiti Minister of Information Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi.
Al-Mashaan highlighted the shared vision for using Arab media to promote development, moderation, and unity, while countering hate speech and misinformation. He also stressed the need to harness AI technologies and create a unified Arab strategy to engage with social media.
He reaffirmed Kuwait's dedication to exchanging expertise with Egypt and enhancing the performance of media institutions in both countries. He pointed to Kuwait's 2021-2025 media strategy, which aims to modernize content and uphold values of inclusion and authenticity.
Abdulaziz welcomed greater cooperation, especially in media, culture, and drama production, stressing Egypt's readiness to support joint efforts. He underlined the media's vital role in promoting cultural understanding and announced upcoming events like the Cairo Media Forum and the Egypt Media Forum, which aim to advance Arab media collaboration.
The meeting was also attended by Awad Al-Fikr, Director of the Arab Media Department.(end) aff.sa
