GAZA, May 17 (KUNA) -- Israeli bombardment across the Gaza Strip killed over 153 people and wounded 459 others in just the past day, according to the Palestinian health authority on Saturday.
The death toll from Israel's war on Gaza has risen to 53,272 deaths, with more than 120,673 injured since October 7 2023, said the authority in a statement.
The ambulance and civil defense teams were unable to reach many of the killed and wounded due to the dangerous conditions recurring shooting by the occupation forces.
This coincided with gunfire from gunboats west of the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, while artillery and air strikes focused on the Tel al-Zaatar neighborhood in Jabalia camp and the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that many families were forced to leave and flee the western and northern areas of Beit Lahia, Jabalia camp and Tal al-Zaatar.
A large number of besieged families sent a distress call to international organizations and the Red Cross to work on getting them out of the besieged camps and towns in the northern Gaza Strip. (end)
