ISTANBUL, March 21 (KUNA) -- Two unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle have reportedly opened fire at Iraq Consulate in Istanbul on Friday evening before fleeing the scene.
They used AK-47 assault rifles and fired eight shots at the facade of the building without causing any casualties, according to local media.
Soon after the attack, the Turkish security services cordoned off the area in a bid to track down the perpetrators and opened probe into the incident.
Confirming the reports, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said the Consul General and other Iraqi diplomats arrived at the scene to follow up on the investigations. (end)
