By Salman Al-Mutairi KUWAIT, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's 24th relief flight from Kuwait's air bridge departed on Wednesday to Damascus International Airport, carrying 10 tons of food aid as part of the "Kuwait By Your Side" campaign.
Kuwait Society for Relief (KSR), with participation from Al-Salam Association for Humanitarian and Charitable Works and coordination with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense, as well as Kuwait Air Force organized this latest initiative.
Director of Al-Salam Association Hamad Al-Aoun told KUNA before take-off that the campaign continues to dispatch relief materials to implement the directives of the Kuwaiti leadership to support and assist the people of Syria.
Al-Oun pointed out that the selection of the shipment was done in coordination with Syrian Arab Red Crescent Society, consisting of basic food materials.
He expressed his appreciation to the official authorities in Kuwait, especially the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, represented by the Kuwaiti Air Force.
This plane is Al-Salam Association seventh relief flight, bringing its total aid shipments to 190 tons, he cumulative assistance delivered through the Kuwaiti air bridge to Syria now stands at 621 tons. (end) slm.ahm
