AMMAN, Dec 6 (KUNA) -- Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Al-Frayeh on Friday declared closure of the land border crossing, Jaber passageway, with neighboring Syria.
The decision was taken due to the current security conditions on the Syrian side, said the minister in remarks carried by the official news agency, Petra.
Jordanian citizens and vehicles coming from the Syrian side will be allowed to cross to the Jordanian territories but departures toward Syria will be banned, the minister said.
Jordanian authorities continue to follow up on current developments in Syria while the Jordanian armed forces continue to secure the borders. (end) amn.rk
