DOHA, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- Katara 14th Traditional Dhow Festival kick started on Wednesday with Kuwaiti participation.
Nawaf Al-Asfour, the head of the Kuwaiti mission partaking in the festival, said Kuwait Society for Revival of Heritage has senT in a team to promote the Kuwaiti heritage in this international event.
Kuwait has for years participated in the Katara festival displaying artifacts and shipbuilding techniques and tools, particularly those used in the construction of the old dhows.
The society chair, Fahad Al-Abduljelil, said the society is engaged in the event with a broad delegation to bring to life crafts of the ancestors.
Participants in the festival are Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Palestine, Iraq, India, Tanzania, Iran and Qatar. (end) sss.rk
