KUWAIT, July 21 (KUNA) --
1932 -- The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Saeed sent a letter to the British representative in Kuwait Sir Francis Humphrey pin pointing the Iraqi-Kuwaiti borders and acknowledging the islands of Warba, Boubyan, Sekkan, Failaka, Ohe, Kubbar, Garo and Umm Al-Maradem belong to Kuwait.
1963 -- The Kuwaiti Teachers Society was proclaimed and begins functioning in October.
1997 -- Nayef Hamad Al-Dabbous died at the age of 88. He was a pioneer businessman, member of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, participant in building the industry infrastructure. He was elected member of the National Assembly in 1963, member of the commission for drafting the constitution in 1980, member of the Supreme Planning Council in 1987 and the honorary chairperson of Fahaheel sports club.
1998 -- The Iraqi regime accused Kuwait of holding 1,037 Iraqis since the 1990 Iraqi invasion of the country in a bid to distract attention from the cause of the Kuwaiti prisoners.
2003 -- The Gulf Aviation Services Group (United Aviation) launched the air taxi services in Kuwait.
2006 -- The Kuwaiti Journalists Association was accepted as member of the International Federation of Journalists.
2007 -- The Ministry of Interior declared detaining the notorious "Hawalli monster," a 27-year-old Egyptian accused of raping children. He was nabbed at the airport while he was trying to flee the country.
2016 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development lent Tunisia KD 22 million (approx. USD 65 million).
2017 -- Kuwait Airways received its ninth Boeing (777-300er) aircraft named (Al-Wafra). (end)
