1961 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed an Amiri Decree regulating municipal elections.
1964 -- State of Kuwait signed with Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Jordan the Arab economic unity treaty, removing custom barriers for inter-Arab trade.
1967 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed a decree whereby forming the National Guard as an entity independent from the Armed Forces. It will be under jurisdictions of the Supreme Defense Council and citizens can volunteer to join the force.
1967 -- Kuwait Government halted oil exports to the US and Britain for their backing for the Israeli occupation's aggression on Arab states.
1976 -- Kuwait Amir signed an Amiri Decree whereby forming Kuwait Music Academy.
2000 -- Al-Watan publishing house issued the first edition of the Arabic-language Newsweek magazine.
2003 -- The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training set up the first incubation facility in Kuwait: Al-Shuwaikh Handicraft Incubation, featuring some 24 projects and securing many jobs.
2006 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah inaugurated Dasman Diabetes Institute.
2017 -- The National Assembly approved amending some provisions of the teachers' allowance law.
2017 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah visited Saudi Arabia starting mediation to resolve the inter-GCC crisis.
2023 -- Kuwaiti citizens headed to polling stations to elect 50 parliament members for the 17th Legislative session, out of 207 candidates who were running in five constituencies. (end) bs
