ISTANBUL, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Turkish Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned Israel's mounting illegal settlement activities and plans to build new settlements in the West Bank.
In a press statement, the ministry said that such "unacceptable" Israeli steps cause serious harm to the prospects of a lasting peace and completely violate international law and UN conventions.
However, the ministry said that Turkiye would continue to support efforts for a two-state solution on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Israeli government on Sunday announced new tenders to build some 4,500 settlement units in the West Bank. (end) ta.mt
