KUWAIT, May 8 (KUNA) -- Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) and Public Authority for Disability Affairs (PADA) announced Monday the launch of a strategic partnership to serve disabled people between both countries through an electronic platform, in the presence of the UAE ambassador and several officials.
In a speech during the meeting, PADA's Director General Dr. Bibi Al-Amiri commended the strategic partnership and cooperation with ZHO, which aims to provide accessibility for the disabled people.
They are working to transfer experiences and benefit both sides while developing a joint strategy aimed at developing several areas, she said, including areas of education, employment, rehabilitation, culture, arts and social services.
She referred to the close ties between Kuwait and UAE, reflecting the remarkable development and continuous cooperation between them in various fields.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of UAE to Kuwait Dr. Matar Al-Neyadi said they hope to develop this partnership to a broader extent by launching initiatives, projects and programs.
Al-Neyadi stressed the strength of the historical relations between both sides, extolling the strategic partnership that is in line with UAE's vision to work towards strengthening more cooperation that focuses on serving people with disabilities.
On his side, ZHO's Secretary General Abdullah Al-Humaidan confirmed that ZHO's goal is to provide services aimed at facilitating external mobility for disabled people and is working to expand its services through strategic partnership with institutions concerned with providing services.
Parking permits in Kuwait falls within the framework of building joint systems with PADA, he said, underlining that this is within a plan intended to provide services that support disabled people.
The parking permit covers all UAE cities and regions as well as Kuwait, including parking available in government buildings, public utilities, commercial centers, hospitals, airports and other places that may be frequented by disabled people in both countries, he explained. (end) slm.lr
