KUWAIT, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's military on Tuesday sent a pair of planes carrying urgent aid for the victims of a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Turkiye's southeastern border region with Syria a day earlier. The outpouring of aid comes a day after Kuwait opened an air bridge for the transfer of relief assistance for the victims of the devastating earthquake, which killed more than a thousand people and left scores of others injured, said an army statement.
Kuwait's rapid delivery of aid for Turkiye in the wake of the natural calamity is a testament to the "breadth" of bilateral relations, the statement underlined.
Thousands people were reported killed and thousands of others injured in the wee hours of Monday when an earthquake rattled southeastern Turkiye and parts of Syria, leaving heaps of rubble in its wake. (end) ak.nam
