AMMAN, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- Syrian Ministry of Health reported on Monday 237 deaths and 639 injuries due to an earthquake that hit south Turkiye earlier today. Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said that 111 deaths and about 516 injuries were reported in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Tartus provinces.
SANA also said that the Syrian President chaired an emergency meeting with the Cabinet to discuss the necessary procedures and damage caused by the earthquake.
A 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkiye earlier on Monday, leading to several casualties. (end) ab.ahm
