ISTANBUL, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- A 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit the Pazarcik town in the southern province of Kahramanmaras earlier on Monday, leading to several casualties, a Turkish media source reported.
According to the Anadolu Agency (AA), which cited the Turkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), at least 42 people were killed and hundreds were injured so far.
The quake, which occurred at a depth of seven kilometers, struck at 04:17 am local-time and was centered in Pazarcik.
The earthquake shattered windows and jolted buildings, leading people to flee to the street, indicated several Turkish media outlets. (end) to.gta
