RAMALLAH, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Three extremist Israeli settlers on Thursday broke into the Church of the Condemnation in the occupied Old City of Jerusalem, and attempted to set the building on fire.
In a press statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the move as a crime that is part of the nonstop aggressions of the Israeli occupation authorities and extremist settlement organizations against Palestinian people, and Islamic and Christian sites.
It said the practices of the occupation are an attempt to Judaize Palestinian holy sites and impose Israeli control on all of them in the context of targeting the holy city.
Therefore, the ministry called on the international community, including relevant UN bodies, to shoulder due responsibility for protecting the Palestinian people and sanctities. (end) nq.mt
