KUWAIT, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Iraq won Thursday its fourth Arabian Gulf title after defeating Oman 3-2 in the final match at the Basra International Stadium.
Iraq opened scoring in the 24th minute and Oman equalized thorough a penalty kick in 100th minute.
In the second extra period, Iraq regained the lead with a second goal in 116th minute. Only one minute before the end of the extra time, Oman equalized again.
It seemed the game is heading towards penalty kicks, when Iraq scored the winner in the 122nd minutes. This is fourth title for Iraq, as it previously won the title in 1979, 1984, and 1988, while Oman won two titles in 2009 and 2017. (end) sad.iab.ara
