BAGHDAD, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Football Team Coach Rui Bento said on Thursday that the team is ready to face the Bahraini squad in the third round of Group B competitions of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, matches of which have been played at stadiums in the southern city of Basra.
Speaking in a news conference in Basra, the coach advised the players "to focus more" in the forthcoming match, affirming that the team "is continuously evolving and the players' performance is also improving," vowing to secure harmony in the formation.
Excerpts of the news conference were publicized by the Iraqi Football Association.
The third round of the tournament is due to kick off on Friday.
Bahrain is leading with six points, followed by Qatar, three, ahead of Kuwait by goals' difference, and the UAE, no points. (end) ahh.rk
