RIYADH, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf has condemned Friday's assassination attempt against the head of the Pakistani diplomatic mission in Afghanistan Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani.
In a press statement, Al-Hajraf stressed the GCC's firm rejection of all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism.
He expressed GCC solidarity with Pakistan and its people in the face of violence and terrorism.
Al-Hajraf called on the international community to take immediate and decisive action to stop these aggressive acts, contradicts moral and human values as well as the principles and charters that regulate international diplomatic work.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that the head of its diplomatic mission in Afghanistan had survived an assassination attempt inside his country's embassy in Kabul, while his bodyguard was injured in the gun attack. (end) mdm.mmj.ibi
