KUWAIT, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- The Moroccan national team defeated Belgium 2-0 on Sunday, edging their way to the top spot of Group F as part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The game, held at the Al Thumama Stadium, saw a goalless first halftime after VAR denied Morocco an opening goal due to off side.
However, Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal stunned the Belgians twice at minutes 73 and 90+2, respectively.
The victory helped Morocco edge Belgium from atop of Group F temporarily, pending the result of another showdown in the group, due later tonight between Croatia and Canada. (end) my.amh.gb
