CAIRO, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- More than 100 "terrorists" were killed in a planned military operation in an area, north of the Somalian capital, Mogadishu.
Among the killed were 10 prominent leaders, Somali National News Agency (SONNA) quoted Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala as saying during a press conference.
The operation targeted an area located on the border between the provinces of Hiran and Middle Shabelle, it added.
He indicated that the National Security and Intelligence Service, in cooperation took part in the military operation, in cooperation with "friendly forces".
He stressed that this area is under the control of the army, while operations are ongoing to pursue the remnants of the rebels. (end) rg.tam.hm
