ADEN, Oct 2 (KUNA) -- UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg expressed his sorrow on Sunday for not being able to reach a deal to extend the truce, which ends Sunday tonight.
In a statement, Grundberg said he will "continue exerting efforts with all parties involved to reach swiftly a deal and move forward." The UN envoy called for calm and halts all types of provocations or aggression that would escalate the situation in Yemen.
Grundberg also called on all parties to abide by their commitment toward the Yemeni people, and to find ways for peace.
Earlier, Yemen's government reiterates commitment to fair and sustainable peace approach based on agreed upon peace terms, namely UNSC resolution 2216, said Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Council. (Pickup previous) sns.mb
