KUWAIT, Oct 2 (KUNA) -- Iran and Indonesia were able to advance to AFC Futsal Asian Cup quarterfinal from Group C, alongside Japan and Vietnam from group D on Sunday.
In the first group, Indonesia was able to defeat Chinese Taipei 4-1, after four goals thanks to Indonesia's Mohammad Fajrian's hat-trick and Shawqi Saud scoring a goal, while Lin Zhihong scored China Taipei's only goal.
In the other match, the Iranian team swept its Lebanese counterpart with nine goals, raising its score to nine points at the top of group C, while Indonesia came second, with six points.
As for Group D, three teams scored six points, but the goal difference came in favor of Japan and Vietnam and Saudi Arabia had to make an early exit from the tournament, despite beating South Korea 4-0.
Finally, in the last match tonight Japan was able to defeat Vietnam 2-0. (end) sad.mb
