BAGHDAD, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Hundreds of Iraqis demonstrated Saturday in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad on the third anniversary of the October protests amid tight security.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that the demonstrators raised Iraqi flags and chanted slogans against financial and administrative corruption and political quotas.
The Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kathemi called on the demonstrators to adhere peace and cooperate with the security forces to protect the state institutions and public and private properties. Whereas, the Iraqi security services monitored some members from the demonstrator's used Molotov cocktails, hunting rifles and ammunition against the security forces charged with protecting the people.
Iraq witnessed on October 2019 the largest protests in the country forcing the government of the former Prime Minister Adel AbdulMahdi to resign. (end) Ahh.gaa
