WASHINGTON, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- US President Joe Biden signed into law Friday a bill to fund the government, averting a partial shutdown that was set for midnight.
The White House said in a statement that Biden signed into law H.R. 6833, the "Continuing Appropriations and Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2023," which provides fiscal year 2023 appropriations to Federal agencies through December 16, 2022, for continuing projects and activities of the Federal Government and includes supplemental appropriations to respond to the situation in Ukraine.
The bill includes around USD 12 billion in additional military and economic aid to Ukraine.
The House of Representatives passed earlier today the bill by a vote of 230-201 after the Senate passed the bill on Thursday by a vote of 72-25. (end) si.ibi
