CAIRO, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Office for Charity Projects Sunday handed out 21 houses to residents in Minya Governorate, Upper Egypt, within the framework of a charitable scheme aiming to reconstruct houses and villages in some cities across the country.
Acting head of the office Sara al-Mutairi delivered the houses, whose reconstruction cost KD 29,000 (USD 90,000), to the beneficiaries in a ceremony attended by Governor Osama Al-Qadi, the office said in a statement.
The project funded by Al Najat Charity Society comes as part of continuation of Kuwait's contribution to carrying out in such projects in cities and villages across Egypt, it added.
This also affirms the deep-rooted and distinguished relations between the two countries, according to the statement.
Al-Mutari voiced appreciation to the society for its continued cooperation in such charitable acts, which contribute to development process and aiding the needy.
Meanwhile, Al-Mutairi handed out some cash money to 50 kidney failure patients in the governorate, as part of cash donation given to 304 patients in some governorates. The total donation sum is evaluated at KD 10,000 (USD 31,500). (end) asm.sh.hm
