ANKARA, Aug 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's swimmer Ali Al-Zamel won Tuesday the 50-m backstroke gold medal with a time of 24.45 seconds in the fifth Islamic Solidarity Games currently hosted by the Turkish city of Konya.
Meanwhile, compatriot swimmer Waleed Abdulrazeq qualified for the final after he had the second position in the 100-m freestyle contest with a time of 50.85 seconds.
The games, which are featuring about 6,000 male and female athletes of more than 50 Islamic countries, will run until August 18. (end) akw.mmj.hm
