BERLIN, Aug 16 (KUNA) -- German Chancellor Olaf Scholz re-asserted Tuesday his nations position on Finland and Sweden's swift mergences to NATO.
Germany's Press and Information Office reported Scholz words following his meet in Stockholm with Sweden's Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson, saying there's a lot of optimism for a quick membership candidacy process.
A specific date was not mentioned by Scholz, adding that the seven NATO members which have not ratified the accession process yet and will do soon.
Scholz's statements ensued on the sidelines of the 5 Nordic nations Summit held in Oslo, Norway to cover Finland and Sweden's extended invitation to join the NATO alliance as the Russian-Ukrainian war commences. (end) anj.aq
