CAIRO, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- The Arab League announced Wednesday that the permanent representatives would hold an emergency meeting on Thursday, to listen to Ukraine's special envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Ambassador Maksym Subkh.
In a statement, the League said that the meeting scheduled to be held via (video conference) will be chaired by Lebanon's permanent representative to the League, Ambassador Ali Al-Halabi, in the presence of the Assistant Secretary-General, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, and will be (in attendance) for the delegates.
The Arab League council formed an Arab ministerial contact group headed by Egypt to communicate with Moscow and Kiev on this crisis.
On July 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited the headquarters of the Arab League and held a meeting with its council at the level of permanent delegates and discussed Russia's vision of the latest developments in Ukraine. (end) mfm.aff.nhq
