MOSCOW, Aug 9 (KUNA) -- Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov announced on Tuesday the destruction of US (HIMARS) missile stores in Ukraine.
Konashenkov said in a statement to the Russian news agency (TASS) that Russian forces destroyed depots containing more than 300 US (HIMARS) missiles at military bases in the cities of Zaporizhzhia and Hurson in Ukraine.
And another eliminated 335 mercenaries during the past four weeks, including 21 Americans.
Meanwhile, (TASS) was quoted by the President of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, as saying that a series of explosions took place in a vicinity of the (Saki) military airport.
Aksyonov said that only one person was killed due to the accident, and it did not lead to any casualties among the soldiers or damage to aircraft at the airport.
The Interfax news agency quoted sources in the ministry as saying that the explosions may have been caused by violating safety rules in storing war munitions. (end) as.tb.ara
