MOSCOW, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- Russia told the United States on Monday it would not allow its weapons to be inspected under the START nuclear arms control treaty.
In a statement, the Russian foreign ministry said "Inspection conditions proposed by Washington created unilateral advantages for the United States and effectively deprive the Russian Federation of the right to conduct inspections on American territory." Russia wants to ensure the operation of all the mechanisms of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty based on the principles of equality, it added.
Washington withdrew in recent years from the Anti-Missile Defense Treaty, the Intermediate Nuclear Missile Treaty and the Open Skies Treaty. (end) as.aa
