RAMALLAH, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- Around 3,000 Jewish settlers barged into the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday marking the Tisha B'Av (Ninth of Av) anniversary of the destruction of the so-called Temple Mount.
The governorate of Jerusalem (Al-Quds) said that the Israeli occupation's police aided settlers during their offensive action via assaulting Muslim worshipers and arresting four Palestinians.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the recent violations against Al-Aqsa, saying that these actions were aiming at changing the history of the holy Islamic shrine.
In April, similar intrusions into Al-Aqsa Mosque occurred with the aid of Israeli security forces, leading to the several Palestinian casualties. (end) nq.gta
