ROME, July 28 (KUNA) -- Italian Foreign Minister Luigi De Maio affirmed on Thursday that the government is working on a contingency plan to face the repercussions of Moscow's reduction of natural gas supplies.
"This energy crisis in Italy is considered a national emergency which requires a plan that reduces natural gas usage by 7 percent," said De Maio in an interview with Channel Five.
"We have to use any means possible to keep Italian out of the darkness, and above all, to keep factories running," he added.
"Italy is creating alternative plans by finding partnerships with various countries due to the strategic reduction of gas caused by the Russian President Vladimir Putin on Europe," he noted. (end) mn.bb
