PARIS, June 30 (KUNA) -- The Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport announced Thursday that 17 percent of Friday flights would be cancelled due to a staff strike for pay rise.
In its tweeter account, the airport cautioned arrivals that waiting time at the inspection points could increase due to the security personnel walkout.
Meanwhile, the French civil aviation authority has asked airlines to cut the number of their flights on Friday from 07:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. (Paris time) because of the personnel shortfall.
Charle de Gaule Airport's trade unions have demanded six to 10 percent rise in wages.
They warned that the strike could drag on till the end of this week if no deal was reached with airport management. (end) mao.ibi
