MADRID, June 29 (KUNA) -- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Wednesday that he and his peers within the alliance agreed that Russia poses "a direct threat to allies' states in Europe an the Atlantic." Speaking at a news conference following a meeting of the NATO leaders, the alliance chief said the allied conferees agreed on the concept that terrorism also remained a direct threat to the NATO states' peoples, global stability and prosperity.
Adding, the NATO chief that there was an agreement to enhance financial and military aid to Ukraine "so that the Ukrainian people would be able to steadfast in the face of Russia." He re-affirmed the NATO determination to maintain the unwavering support for Ukraine, arm it with heavy weapons "because a strong and independent Ukraine is necessary for stability of the European and Atlantic regions."
