RIYADH, June 28 (KUNA) -- Morocco won the Arab Futsal Cup for the second year in a row in a 3-0 defeat of Iraq on Tuesday, becoming one of the competition's three most decorated sides.
The North Africans, with two titles, join Egypt and Libya as the all-time top title holders of the pan-Arab tournament, which was this year held in Saudi Arabia's eastern city of Dammam.
Kuwait, who prepare to host the AFC Futsal Asian Cup from September 27 to October 8, came third after reaching a semifinal which they narrowly lost 2-1 to Iraq.
Abdulrahman Al-Taweel of Kuwait won the top goal scorer award after scoring nine goals in the tournament, while Soufiane El-Mesrar took home the best player award. (end) mdm.sd
