AMMAN, June 26 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian cause will be amongst the top issues highlighted by King Abdullah II during US President Joe Biden's visit to the Middle East in July, said the royal diwan on Sunday.
This affirmation came during King Abdullah's meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, added the diwan.
It continued King Abdullah will bring this important subject up during his participation in the summit gathering the GCC, the US, Egypt, and Iraq.
The Palestinian cause must be front and center during discussions with President Biden especially with the Israeli occupiers' efforts to sabotage efforts to resume peace talks in the region.
King Abdullah affirmed that Jordan was and always would the just Palestinian cause with its aims to establish an independent state within the June 1967 and a capital in east Jerusalem.
He stressed that the history and essence of the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem should be safeguarded against Israeli heinous attempts to change history.
On his part, President Abbas thanked King Abdullah for his sincere sentiments towards the Palestinian people and their cause, saying that it was paramount to stand against efforts to change the reality in the region. (end) abu.gta
