TEHRAN, June 25 (KUNA) -- A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the port of Charak in Iran's southern province of Hormozgan on Saturday, with no casualties reported, according to local authorities.
Tehran University's seismological center said in a statement a quake measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale hit Iran's southern Gulf waters early Saturday.
Iran Red Crescent Society said there were no immediate reports of casualties, but some buildings were affected.
Earlier on Wednesday, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake rocked the same province, but no casualties were reported. (end) mw.mt
