TUNIS, June 24 (KUNA) -- The Tunisian Ministry of Interior said Friday the security services managed to neutralize serious threats targeting the life of President of the Republic Kais Saied.
"The threats reached a serious stage that required making them public," Spokesperson of the Ministry Fadhila Al-Khelifi told a news conference. She warned against attempts to destabilize the country, noting that investigations continue to determine the parties involved in the hostile designs, whether domestic or external.
Al-Khelifi pointed out that a terrorist plot against "a sensitive security post" was foiled late last night and the culprit was nabbed.
A young man was reportedly arrested while attempting to stab two policemen near a church in downtown Tunis. (end) ksj.gb
