BEIRUT, June 23 (KUNA) - Lebanese President Michal Aoun, on Thursday, designated former Prime Minister Najib Mikati to form the new government.
The Presidency Director-General, Antoine Choucair, announced that President Aoun, after consulting Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and briefing him on the results of binding parliamentary consultations, summoned Najib Mikati and assigned him to form a government.
Mikati was nominated premier for a fourth time after securing the support of 54 of parliament's 128 lawmakers. (end) kbs.aa
