BEIRUT, June 15 (KUNA) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Wednesday set June 23 as the date for compelling consultations with MPs and parliamentary blocs as a prelude to designate a new prime minister.

The Lebanese Presidency declared in a statement that the president would start receiving the legislators as of 10 a.m. on June 23.
Lebanon held parliamentary elections on May 15, thus the government of Najib Mikati has been pursuing its duties on care-taking basis.
Following the planned consultations, the designated prime minister would be entitled to form a new cabinet. (end) kbs.rk
