CAIRO, June 5 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament (AP) Sunday called for providing international protection to Palestinian people and their rights, in line with international and humanitarian law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
This came in a statement by the parliament on the 55th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba occurred on June 5 1967.
The parliament stressed the necessity of holding the Israeli occupation for its crimes against Palestinians, it said.
The Nakba anniversary coincides this year with the Israeli escalation on Jerusalem City, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Muslim and Christian sanctities, under the protection of the Israeli army, it pointed out.
The AP called on international community to assume its responsibilities to end the Arab-Israeli conflict through abiding by the two-state solution to regain all rights of Palestinian people topped with the right to return and self-determination as well as establishing an independent state on its full territories with East Jerusalem as its capital, it concluded.
