ISLAMABAD, May 23 (KUNA) -- At least two soldiers of Pakistan army were killed in an attack by آ‘terroristsآ’ in North Waziristan area of Pakistanآ’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said military on Monday night.
According to a press release by Pakistan militaryآ’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), "Two soldiers embraced martyrdom after terrorists attacked a military post in North Waziristanآ’s Mir Ali." It further said that the terrorists carried out a fire raid on a military post in the general area Mir Ali. "Troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terroristsآ’ location," it added.
"During intense exchange of fire, the two soldiers fought gallantly and embraced Shahadat," said ISPR. A clearance operation was launched in the area after the attack.
Earlier in the month, at least three Pakistan army soldiers and as many children were killed on Sunday in a suicide blast in the vicinity of Miranshah area of North Waziristan district. (end) sbk
